The Public Procurator of Tokyo is now under an order by the Chief Justice taking the evidence of the prisoners in Gaol for use against their confederates in Tokyo, and I under- -stand that Nishiyama (No. 5) has made a full confession, and has also stated that a number of the notes were completed in Mameya's Photographic Studio.

Sano (No. 6) the proprietor of this Studio was

one of the originators of the scheme. The other defendants had no

connection with Hongkong.
